Must Watch! Rodrigo Duterte And Leni Robredo's First Meeting!

Despite the long complicated disposition of newly inagurated highest officials of the country-- President Rodrigo Duterte, and Vice President Leni Robredo, their first meeting yesterday, July 1st, wasn't awkward at all. It took the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Change of Command rites at Camp Aguinaldo to be together for the first time. The President was the guest of honor wherein Robredo was also an invited guests.

Pictures have showed Robredo stood up while Duterte ascended the stage after the military gave him arrival honors. However, they sat one seat apart.

Duterte, acknowledged Robredo at the very beginning of his speech, and shared that it was his first meeting. He joked about how he would have seated beside Robreo if not for Secretary of Defense Delfin Lorenzana, who was seated in between them.

After the ceremony, Duterte was seen to offer the VP his favorite coco drink which was humbly declined by Robredo. They chatted a little after that and even posed for a picture before exiting from the stage. In an interview with Robredo, she shared their first meeting and said "Ano naman very cordial ang meeting, nagpaalam ako sa kanya kung pwede ako magpa-set ng schedule ng courtesy visit. Pagbalik ko siguro sa office, iyon ang aasikasuhin ko na makapag-set kami ng meeting." She added that the president responded positively and they are looking forward to the meeting. " Oo naman, mukhang welcome naman para sa kanya." Robredo said.
It can be recalled that having to run from different political parties, they weren't in very smooth relationship. Duterte hasn't offered Robredo any cabinet post because of his friendship with Marcos.
